We loved watching the 2013 Golden Globes last night hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (didn’t they do an AMAZING job)? Last night, we saw lots of RED on the red carpet and stars certainly upped the amp of the glam factor with their floor sweeping ballgowns this year. The looks were kept natural by understated makeup and fresh looking faces - notice - lots of bare and nude lips. We loved the old Hollywood silhouettes of the statement-making gowns. But, even paired with jaw-dropping jewels, our favorite looks seemed to emanate an effortless elegance.

Highland Park Village’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kersten Rettig, noted Kate Hudson and Jodie Foster to be a few of her favorites. And, Highland Park Village’s Senior Marketing Manager, Rachel Michell, mentioned Katherine McPhee, Claire Danes, and Jennifer Lawrence (to name a few) of her favored looks. Karl Lagerfeld To Host Chanel Fashion Show In Dallas

Yes, you read it correctly. Mr. Lagerfeld himself (Chanel royalty) announced that he plans to host a fashion show in Dallas. To him, it’s the best fit to follow the recent pre-collection show he held in Scotland this past December.

So, what made Karl Lagerfeld choose Dallas as the next spot? “To do the opposite, next time, in a year, I will go to Dallas,” said Lagerfeld. “You know why? First of all, I love Texas. I love Texans. There’s another reason. When Chanel reopened, the French press was beyond nasty. The only press that understood it immediately was the American press - so I think it’s a nice thing to go there.”

Heightening our Lela Rose obsession is the pre-fall 2013 collection. We loved viewing these images in rich mustard hues, cobalt blues, and charcoals - in the most beautiful and artistically inspired prints. There’s a gorgeous mix of color play that comprises the unique array of graphics in this collection.

Lela Rose pre-fall 2013 was inspired by the Abstract expressionist artist Clyfford Still. His use of jagged edges and large expanses of color inspired many of the prints and fabrics, as well as the dripped paint embroideries. We can’t wait to shop these styles in our boutique.
