This past weekend, Highland Park Village celebrated our second annual FoundDog Day with Angies Friends and White Rock Dog Rescue. From puppies to beautiful dogs of all ages, Highland Park Village guests met and played with pups of every kind - dog and cat food donations were accepted as well.
Quite a few dogs and puppies found forever homes, but we ask that you follow Angies Friends on Facebook to help spread the word about some of our sweet four legged friends that still need homes. Thanks to everyone who made it out to Highland Park Village this past weekend to help support these organizations.
Young philanthropist and Park Cities resident Stella Wrubel is corralling her elves to ensure the Christmas season is merry and bright. Last December, Stella, an eight-year-old at Lamplighter, sold bundles of mistletoe to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy after she worried about her godfather’s safety.
This year Stella will be back again, but this time proceeds will benefit children who were affected by the tornadoes in Moore, Oklahoma. Stella will set up shop in front of Five & Ten on Sundays in December and sell fresh bundles collected from her family farm. Highland Park Village is proud to support a young, budding philanthropist as she works toward her goal of raising $10,000!
We have lots of exciting holiday happenings this week of Thanksgiving at Highland Park Village! This Friday, November 29th marks our Christmas Tree Lighting Celebrations from 1:30-5:30pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus are making a visit to Highland Park Village beginning at 2pm this Friday. Our Christmas Tree will be located near our rag & bone boutique (across the street from Café Pacific) and this is where you will find Santa and Mrs. Claus throughout the day! Mrs. Claus will have a special story time session and Santa will meet with all of the children about their Christmas wish lists!
There will be photography available for Christmas photographs and don’t miss the balloon artist and face painters! They’ll be located at the Clock Tower in Center Court from 2:30-5:30pm. And, finally, the Dallas Youth Repertory Project will perform dance performances across from the Clock Tower and near Tom Thumb on a stage that afternoon.
All of the lights at Highland Park Village will officially go on at 5pm and the formal Christmas Tree Lighting is scheduled for 5:15pm.

Join Event Chair Tanya Wiggains and Honorary Chair Gina Ginsburg to ring in the holidays for the 14th Annual New Friends New Life Holiday Home Tour! Your support of this special event serves the women and children of New Friends New Life. This organization restores and empowers trafficked teen girls and sexually exploited women and their children by providing access to education, job training, interim financial assistance, mental health and spiritual support. New Friends New Life helps women and their children overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty and limited opportunities.
Get ready to decorate your schedule this month with the 3rd annual Gingerbread Stroll. The Gingerbread Stroll beings today and lasts through Saturday, November 30th at Highland Park Village. Guests can admire and silently bid on ornately decorated gingerbread houses crafted by Dallas’ premiere pastry chefs on display at various boutiques in Highland Park Village. And, the best part? All proceeds from The Gingerbread Stroll will benefit Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer!
