The WSJ calls belts “The Next Frontier of Men’s Accessories.” “Mr. Heffernan, a surgeon and Harvard M.B.A. who’d reinvented himself as a New York-based fashion entrepreneur, had noted that menswear was growing at nearly twice the clip of womenswear.”  Because men don’t have a lot of accessories to work with, a belt can be a way to really add a bit of signature style and personality to any attire. GQ creative director Jim Moore told the WSJ that the men’s fashion magazine is “back in full-throttle belt mode.”  ”The belt is your new pocket square,” Mr. Moore said. “It’s your new accent piece that can really make or break a look.”
