FoundDog Day 2014 Recap

1. founddog

This past weekend, Highland Park Village celebrated our second annual FoundDog Day with Angies Friends and White Rock Dog Rescue.  From puppies to beautiful dogs of all ages, Highland Park Village guests met and played with pups of every kind - dog and cat food donations were accepted as well.

Quite a few dogs and puppies found forever homes, but we ask that you follow Angies Friends on Facebook to help spread the word about some of our sweet four legged friends that still need homes.  Thanks to everyone who made it out to Highland Park Village this past weekend to help support these organizations.

Lela Rose and Michelle Nussbaumer invite you to enjoy an upcoming event at Lela Rose honoring the 2014 Symphony Debutantes. The invitation is extended to all patrons of the Dallas Symphony, past debutantes and their families, as well as members of the community to come and support the February 5th event as the Dallas Symphony is honored with 10% of the evening’s proceeds. “I am so excited the team at Lela Rose approached me about hosting an event in honor of the 2014 Symphony Debutantes,” said Michelle Nussbaumer,  “It is such a special time for my family being that both my daughter, Anais, is a Debutante and my son Axel, is in the Honor Guard this year.  With Lela being a past Deb, this event is the perfect celebration of design and honoring the Symphony and all current and past Debutantes!”

Ozzie (formerly Henry) - a happy rescue from Angie’s Friends that spends his time between Lake Tahoe and Scottsdale with his family

As some of you may know, last year, we hosted FoundDog Day at Highland Park Village with Angie’s Friends.  It was such a wonderful success (you can check out the recap here!), that we’re thrilled to partner with Angie’s Friends and White Rock Dog Rescue to bring some more loving pups to Highland Park Village - right before Valentine’s Day we might add.

Here’s a letter Angie’s List received this year from Ozzie’s new mom!

Hi Amanda, thanks for contacting me regarding Henry. His name has been changed to Ozzie! We have always had Bulldogs, when our Bucky passed away suddenly we were devastated. We went without a dog for 6years. We finally healed & decided we would like to rescue a dog. We wanted a smaller dog we could travel with between our homes in Phoenix & Lake Tahoe,Ca.

Ozzie is an amazing, fun, sometimes naughty dog!! We love him to bits! He has matured so we experience much less naughtiness I was visiting my sister in law in Frisco, Tx. She drove me to my favorite mall. I was thinking about rescuing a dog.Had looked in Phoenix but only found pitbulls, large mixed breeds & Chihuahuas. Then there he was! Soo cute & perfect!! I rescued him the end of January 2013 at the Mall in Big D!!

This last year has been challenging & fun. He has made our world! He is such a character & so funny! He is starting agility classes next week and has been chosen to appear in a commercial. He spends his winters in Phoenix & his summers in Lake Tahoe! He has the life of Riley!!

Here are some pictures of him. Please get them to Angie for me. I tried to text them to her awhile back but apparently she can’t receive them with the phone she has. She is such an amazing person! She does so much for animals in need.

Tom Ford shared fifteen things he believes every man should have with Vanity Fair.  These items include: “always new socks and underwear (throw away the old ones every six months),” as well as a “smart blazer” and “a daily read of the newspaper.”  You can read the full list here.   Women are sharing the article all over the Internet.  Maybe it’s the fact that “good cologne” is on the list.

What are a few things you think every man should own or do?  Or, for the men out there, what’s on your list?
